Farm to Fibre: A Full-Day Alpaca & Wool Workshop Experience
June 20 | 10:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Spend a meaningful, hands-on day immersed in the journey of fibre—from animal to finished piece—at 6 Acre Farm.
We’ll begin the day with a relaxed, guided tour of the farm, where you’ll meet the alpacas, sheep, and chickens and learn about how their fleece is grown and cared for. From there, you’ll dive into the fibre process yourself, washing and preparing a portion of raw fleece to take home. During registration, you’ll be able to choose between working with alpaca or Rambouillet wool, giving you a personalized experience based on your preference.
You’ll also be introduced to the foundational steps of fibre processing, including preparation and winding, so you can better understand and appreciate the transformation from raw fleece to usable fibre.
After a cozy farm-style lunch, we’ll transition into a relaxed afternoon crochet session using wool sourced directly from the farm. This portion of the workshop is beginner-friendly and guided step-by-step, making it perfect whether you’re brand new or looking to build on your skills. You’ll leave with a handmade project and a deeper connection to the materials you’ve worked with throughout the day.
